INTERNSHIP TRACKS

As a non-profit intern with Dream Center NYC, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the non-profit sector while making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. You will receive training, mentoring, and support throughout your internship and will have the opportunity to attend workshops and seminars to further enhance your skills

PART-TIME

Part-time interns commit to a minimum of 15-20 hours per week for the semester (spring, summer, or fall).

FULL-TIME

Full-time interns commit to serving between 6 months to 1 year, typically serving full-time hours.

    • Social Media and Marketing Campaigns: help us promote our programs and services to a wider audience

    • Volunteer Coordination: assist with the recruitment and management of volunteers for our various programs

    • Community Outreach: work with us to organize and lead community events and activities

    • Event Planning: help us plan and execute fundraising events and other community gatherings

    • Data Entry: assist with data entry and record-keeping to help us track our progress and impact

    • Grant Writing: work with our team to research and apply for grants to support our programs and services

    • General Admin: assist with various administrative tasks, such as answering phones, filing, and managing communications with our supporters

    • Warehouse Management: learn how to operate a forklift, get certified, and assist with organizing and keeping inventory in our warehouse

    • Donation Preparation: help us prepare donation items for pick up by our church partners

    • Non-Profit Development: responsible for providing administrative support and assisting in the management of an annual development plan to resource Dream Center NYC. Ideal for individuals interested in the non-profit sector and want to gain experience in development and fundraising.

  • Interns are asked to pay a program fee of $225. This covers administrative costs as well as serves as a physical commitment to the program.

  • The Dream Center NYC City Internship is unpaid.

  • Part-time interns may be able to work part-time hours while they intern. However, full-time interns may not, as it is a full-time work internship. Our desire is for you to have the energy, time, and focus to make the most out of your internship as well as balance the other priorities in your life.

  • Staff positions are not guaranteed after internship. Any opportunity for continued commitment at Dream Center NYC will be discussed on a case-by-case basis

  • Yes! Our internships are geared toward current college students, recent graduates, or grad students. We would love to work with you to accommodate your school schedule as you intern.

  • Full-time internships tracks begin each September and May, with exceptions.

    Part-time internships tracks occur each: Summer (June-August), Fall (September-December), and Spring (February - May), with exceptions.

    Summer 2023 Internship begins on Wednesday, June 28.

  • Our staff offices are in Long Island City, NY (Queens). Our community initiatives currently serve different neighborhoods in East Harlem, Chelsea, and Hamilton Heights.

  • Yes. Each participant is required to have a laptop computer to use during the duration of the program.

  • We are not able to provide housing for our interns at this time. If you need assistance with housing, we can connect you with some of our ministry partners that may offer housing at a discounted cost.
